SENDING BOMBS THROUGH THE POST
CHARGE AGAINST A SCIENTIST. PECULIAR. CASE. By Telegraph—Press Association—CopyriyM. (Received February 8, 10.35 p.m.) LONDON, February S. In October last a Swedish subject named Dr Martin Eknbarg, described as a consulting engineer and scientist, was charged at Bow street Police Court with attempted murder in Sweden. It was understood that Dr Ekenberg was accused of sending a bomb •through tho post to Mr John Hammar, of Stockholm, manager of tho Swedish Export Association, who lost two of his fingers and a thumb by the explosion that followed. Under tho extradition treaty with Sweden the prosecution had two months in which to prepare their case, and accused was remanded in custody.
He was ordered to ho sent to Brixtm prison, where ho has just died of apoplexy.
