(To the Editor “N.Z. Times/') Sir,—ln your (remarks on the strenuousness of the past bowling week you mention that 701 games were played. Calculating on an average of 31 lb per bowl, a game of twenty-one, heads runs into approximately half a ton; this would give a total of 350 tons for the above number of games, and. if we moderately allow, say, 50 tons for "deadheads, which were very numerous throughout (more so than usual), w.o get a grand total for the week of 400 tons of bowls propelled along the. greens. This ought to clinch "the passing” of the old idea’ that bowls was purely an old mans game. I am, ate.. AEJABEB ,
