AN INQUIRY
(To the Editor " N.Z. Times.”) Sir, —Could our Mayor or any member of the City Council state why no baud performances are held in the band rotunda in the Thorndon esplanade? Have the councillors no interest in the ; esplanade, or is all the interest centred in Lyall Bay? It seems a waste that sucli a valuable asset should lie dormant to citizens of the Empire City who. would bo only too pleased to enjoy a promenade to the strains of the '‘Merry Widow” waltz.—l am, etc., MOZAET. Thorndon, January ITth.
