SPORTS MEETING AT PETONE

A sports gathering' organised by the Hutt railway duplication workers in aid of their injured workers' benefit fund and attended by some hundreds of townspeople was-held on the Petono Recreation 'Ground on Saturday. The diversion of young and old was well catered for, the outing proving a most enjoyable one. The Highland Pipe Band was in attendanoe. Results : 100yds maiden—J. Ballantyne 1, J. Lockeridgo 2.
