AMATEUR ATHLETICS

The committee of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club met last evening, silr J. H. Pollock, presiding. A letter was received from the "Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association granting the club permission to hold an evening sports meeting on January 19th. It was decided to apply to the centre for permission to hold an autumn sports meeting on the first Saturday in March next. Ten now members were elected. The following officials were elected for the forthcoming ovening meeting: —Track judges, Messrs C. Bridge, \V. F. Larkin, and W. G. Talbot; starter, Mr T. W. Leslie; timekeepers, Messrs J. H. Pollock and C. D. Bridge; walking judges, Messrs F. Ross and T. W. Leslie; marksmen, Messrs.L., W. Cozens, and A. C. Johnson.
