MOTORING
THE GRAND PEIX,
• Regarding the projected revival of the French Grand Prix motor car race, it would seem that the motor trade, .as a whole, is not unanimous in having it an out-and-out speed contest, as desired, by the sporting committee of the I' rencn. Automobile Club. Only seven firms had replied in favour up to November 13th, and as forty-five entries were wanted by November 30th if the event is to be held, the outlook is not too promising. Other concerns object to full liberty being given the makers, because, they contend, it would lead to tho construction pf mechanical monsters, not calculated to aid in tho progress of automobilism. Tho question as to whether the race shall be held is, therefore, far from being settled in the affirmative.
