At a meeting of the Otago Cricket Association to-night, the question, whether Otago will challenge Auckland in connection -with the Plunket Shield comnefition was brought up for consideration. It was decided to challenge Auckland, provided a fully representative team could he sent. It was also decided to recommend that the match be played in Februury 18th, 19th and 21st. The suggestion of the Wellington Association u play a match there v*as considered impracticable, as the players could not spare the time. It was resolved that the chairman hr authorised to telegraph to the council, advising that the Otago Associationnot prepared to join other associations in providing for an Australian team's visit, unless tho pooling system was brought into operation.
