IMMIGRANTS AT SYDNEY
THE ANGLO-INDIAN TROUBLE,
By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyrig' (Received January 12, 9.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 12. The Director of tho Immigration Bureau states, in connection with the reported difficulty of placing AngloIndians sent by Captain Holden, that no trouble exists so far as the Government system is concerned. On Monday 339 assisted immigrants landed from tho steamers Orviete and Marathon, all of whom were placed on farms before nightfall at tho highest rates of wages, and tho State could absorb increased shipments ot skilled agricultural immigrants. The bureau has found work for a number of Captain Holden’s AngloIndians, hut trouble has arisen over the others owing to their unfitness for or unwillingness to take-work offering.
