The death is announced at yesterday morning of Mr Philip McCarthy, farmer, a widely known colonist who settled on the West Coast about 1865. Father Clancy, for many .years manager of the institution, was also present. Father O'Shea spoke in the highest terms of all ho saw and heard of the children and the Orphanage, and said h© felt sure that under tho new management the future of the school would give ©very Satisfaction to those interested in the good work carried on therein.
