Surely no ono thinks that those who oppose our examination system wish to eliminate all examining or testing. I have always been careful to state what seems to me tho proper place and function of examination in a national system of education. The third paragraph from the end of your contributor’s letter is the beet reply to his criticism of what I actually said, though not, of course, with what he credits mo with saying.—l am, etc., T. A.
