WILBERFORCE REEFS
SATISFACTORY PROSPECTING. PEESS ASSOCIATION. HOKITIKA, January 11. Prospecting operations at the Wilberforce reefs, with which good progress has been, mad© during th© recent fin©, spoil of weather, have resulted in proving a further extent of reef to be*highly payable. A distance of an additional 17 feet has been driven on the continuation of th© former tunnel during the past month, and the stone has been found to be even superior to that previously met with. The reef is still widening, and there are indications that it will continue to do so for some distance. ‘The gold-bearing quartz is now showing a thickness of two feet. Although the stone has not yet been assayed, experts pronounce it to bfi particularly good.
