GREATER INVERCARGILL
PRESS ASSOCIATION. INVERCARGILL, January 11. Tho constitution meeting of the Council of Greater Invercargill Association was held yesterday evening, there being a meeting of forty-six councillors and the Mayor, Mr C. S. Longuet. The meeting was only formal, and standing ■orders were adopted. There are fifty-three councillors who hold office for another eighteen months, while tho Mayor will hold office till May next. It is stated that owing to legal provisions concerning the holding of contracts under the council two of the councillors will lose their status. After the formal business a "social” to celebrate the event was held.
At the first business meeting the most important matter will be a discussion on whether or not the ward system shall be adopted.
