At a meeting of tb© council of tb© Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, the Nelson Chamber wrote, urging that the time had arrived to approach the Railway Department, with the object of making some arrangement for tho through booking of merchandise throughout the Dominion. They stuted that a circular wa© being prepared, setting forth the advantages, ar/i it was proposed to ask tho various chambers to unite in making representations to th© Government to inaugurate th© system. The suggestion was heartily approved, and it was agreed to writ© t© the Government, Asking it to undertake through delivery of merchandise.
