PETONE COURT
At a sitting of the Petone Police Court yesterday, Messrs W. Inglis and S. R. Johnson, J.P.’s, presiding, John Naukiville was fined 20s, with costs 12s, in default throe days’ imprisonment, for leaving a vehicle standing after dark on a public roadway without a lifijht attached, and ids, with costs 7s, for driving without a light. As a result of accused’s neglect a .cyclist had -collided with the vehicle and sustained rather severe injuries to his face. An elderly man, William t>ryden, pleaded guilty to a charge of using obscene language in a railway carriage and was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. A first offender was fined 10s, with costs 7s, in default forty-eight hours for using threatening language. ’ Edward Ashby convicted of burning rubbish out of doors without having obtained a permit, was fined 2s Gd, with 7s costs.
