THE ARMIDALE MURDER.

(Received January 7, 11.36 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 7. ■ Casey, the man arrested for the murder of Johanna Kelly at a hotel in Armidale in December, 1908, has been committed for trial. In his confession Casey stated that after visiting other hotels, trying to got a drink, and finding them closed, he vent to the hotel where Miss Kelly was employed. He saw a woman enter a bedroom, and believed her to bo identical with a woman who had robbed him in Queensland. Under this impression, when all was quiet he entered the bedroom and cut the woman’s throat. He had confessed because the crime was troubling him. Casey, whose manner in Court was strange, was not asked to plead.
