AUCKLAND TOURNAMENT. PgESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, January 5.The Auckland lawn tennis tournament was continued to-day. The men’s singles championship was finished, J. C. Peacock beating H. R. Brown after a good struggle, 6—l, 3 —6, 4 —6, 6 —2, G —3. Misses Powdreli and Gray . won tbe ladies’ double championship in straight sets from Misses Nunneley and Braithwalte, 6—2, 9—7. ,
In the semi-final of the combined championship Miss Nunneley and Wilding beat Miss R. Wellwood and H. Brown, 6—o, 6—2, and Miss Williams and Blair beat Miss Braithwaite and Peacock, 6 —4, 10 —8. The final of the ladies’ handicap singles was won hy Miss Williams, who beat Miss Batham, 6—4, G—4.
The final of the men’s handicap doubles was wou by Grigson and Alan Brown, and the final of the ladies’ handicap doubles by Misses Gorrie and Nevill.
