MARLBOROUGH ACTIVITY. A general meeting of the Fruit Growers' Association was held on Saturday last in Blenheim, says the ‘Tier-
.aid/' Mr H. Jellyman presided. A recommendation from the Committee that the aubscriotlon to the Association be os per annum for those owning orchards under an acre of area, and 10s 6d for those owning over an acre of qtrcltard was adopted. A letter was received from Mr T. W. Kirk, Government Biologist, informing the Association that a national Fruit Growers' Conference is to be held at Perth on October 26th. and asking if the Association had anything that it wished to have placed before the Conference. It was decided to reply that this Association suggest** that the question of tho bitter or Brown pit bo thoroughy discussed at the Conference fox the purpose of arriving, if possible, at its cause and tho best means of dealing with it. Mr Kirk also wrote accepting tho Association’s invitation to deliver an address in Blenheim on a dato to be arranged. It was decided to circularise all orchard owners in Marlborough with the object of soliciting membership, and pointing out the advantages gained by belonging to the Association,
