AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS FOR ENGLISH TOUR. A STRONG OBJECTION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright MEL-BOURNE, February 16. The selectors, Messrs Iredale, Macnlistor, and Hill, have chosen Whitty, Macalister, Carkeek, Sid Gregory, and Bardsley to complete the Australian eleven. Hopkins has been recommended for inclusion as fifteenth man. Clem Hill strongly objected to the choice of Macalister and Carkeek, and , urged Gelirs's claims. He told his selectors that he did not think the best men had been chosen, and that ho intended to wash his hands of tho whole affair. The personnel of the chosen fifteen is j now as follows: —Noble, Trumper, Carter, Macartney, Bardsley, Cotter, Sid. Gregory, .Hopkins (New South Wales); Armstrong, Hansford, Maealister, Carkeek (Victoria): Whitty, O'Connor (South Australia); R. Ilartigan (Queensland).
