Mr William Tutepuaki Pitt, son of the late Major Pitt, and secretary to the Native Lands Commission was married yesterday at Rotorua to Miss Katherine Rangikawhiti Rogers. There was a unusually large gathering of pakeha and native friends, the bride and bridegroom being exceptionally popular-. Mr Pitt was formerly a non-commissioned officer of the First New Zealand Contingent, subsequently earning a commission in a later regiment. Ho distinguished himself by his valiant conduct at Saunas Post on the morning of March 31st, 1900, saving at great personal risk the Capo cart which contained a largo mail for

New Zealand soldiers. Mr Pitt is widely esteemed among a large circle of soldier mends.

Yesterday afternoon at St. Mark’s Church Miss Hinemarama OsborneGibbes, second daughter of Sir E. Os-bonie-Gibbos, Secretary for Education in Now Zealand,was married to Mr Frederick Grevillo Thompson, of Ballance, AVairarapa. The ceremony, which was performer by the Rev. A. M. Johnson, vicar of St. Peter’s, was very quiet, only the relatives and immediate friends of the contracting parties being present. The bridegroom was supported by his brother, Air Harold Thompson. A reception was afterwards held at tho residence of tho bride’s parents in Bidwill street.

A wedding of considerable interest was celebrated by the Rev. AV. J. AVilliams, assisted by the Rev. C. H. Garland, at Nelson recently, when Air Norisau R. AVilliams, secretary of'the Nclr#6n Education Board, was married to Miss Janet Boon, daughter of Air and Airs James Boon, of Nelson. The bride wa* given away by her father, and looked charming in an ivory satin gown a la Empire, the corsage softened with cream lace. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Aliss Boon and Aliss Connie Palmer, whose pretty Empire moussehno gowns were set oh with their bouquets of lovely crimson carnations. The best man was Sir Aubrey AVilliams, and Air Keith ' Boon acted as groomsman. Mr and Mrs Williams subsequently loft for their honeymoon, which will be spent in the Auckland district.

At tho Pilot Station, AVairau, last Saturday, the wedding of Captain George Wilkinson, of the s.s. Blenheim, with Aliss Hannah Aiadalino Fisk, youngest daughter of Captain Fisk, was solemnised, the Von. Archdeacon Grace officiating. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a cream serge costume and a cream hat trimmed with roses. Her bouquet was of Christmas lilies. Aliss S. Fisk was bridesmaid, and wore a pretty pink dress and a black hat. Tho bridegroom was supported by Air G. Furness, as best man. Alter tho ceremony an “at home” was held at the residence of the bride’s parents. The happy couple left for Piclou on route for Wellington, their future homo, the bride's travelling dress being of brown voile with touches of lace and pale blue, and she- added a cream hat.

Jeukineon, stock inspector in charge of AVelliugton and Wairarapa, was married to Mr W. Gordon Laing, of Gieucrieff, Bidoford, AVairarapa. The Rev. J. Kennedy Elliott officiated. The bride was attired in a dainty white mousselino embroidered robe made in' Empire stylo, and wore a tulle veil over a wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a silver-mounted prayer-book, and was attended by her two sisters as bridesmaids. Their frocks were of white crystalline embroidered with pale blue French knots, and they carried shower bouquets. Mr XI. A. Miller was best man, and Air H. McLareu groomsman. After the ceremony the guests sat down to a dainty wedding breakfast, and in the evening an impromptu dance wa* given. The bride’s mother was attired in violet silk, and Airs Laing wore a grey gown. The happy couple subsequently left for the north, where their honeymoon will be spent.
