LEVIN
(From Our Own Correspondent). Tho business places were decorated for Christmas, and business was ■ reported , to be brisk, although not so keen as ■ last year. A meeting. of members and intending members of the Commercial and Farmers Club and Devin Bowling Club will bo held in the new club-room on Thursday evening December 31st, to arrange for the oiiicial opening of the new club buildings, etc. Tho next public work to be put in hand for Levin is the enlarging of the Levin Post Office. Business is increasing rapidly, and at present the officials are working under difficulties. The pbat office at Weraroa is almost completed, and the now post office at Forton is being pushed forward. .
Members of the Y.M.C.A. Cricket Club (Wellington) came up to Levin to play a match on Boxing Day against the local team, but, as usual, only six of the team chosen were present. However, the match was proceeded with, five substitutes being called in. The match was won by the visitors, Y.M.C.A., by an innings and 12 runs. Splendid weather favoured the sportsmen, and a- good time . was spent, although regret was felt at the lack of interest. taken in cricket by the local team.
