GIRLS’ REALM GUILD

The Ivia Ora. centre of the Girls 5 Realm Guild has decided to hold a concert at the Town Hall next month for the purpose of raising funds to enable them to carry on their useful and self-sacrificing labours on behalf of the poor and needy. It may be remembered that on the occasion of - the annual guild meeting, held some few weeks since, her mxoelleney Lady Pluukot warmly commended the Kia Ora centre girls for the energy and enthusiasm they had displayed and the largo amount of executive work going to their credit, including the sending of literature to the outgoing vessels, and quarantine patients, toys and warm dressing gowns to invalid children, and providing rolled bandages for the Missions tc Seamen. By their efforts, too, aged people had been enabled to enjoy drives, and the lepers at Quail Island had had a,little brightness, infused into their blighted lives by gifts of books, magazines, and gramophone records. Lonely girls had also been corresponded with, and in every way the members had striven to live up to the ideals of the guild. It is to bo earnestly hoped that a bumper house will reward the ICia Ora girls, and that their finances will be so sensibly strengthened that they will not alono bo able to carry on, but also to enlarge their sphere of operations for the ensuing year,
