IMPROVEMENTS IN MOTOR CARS
At last we are in a position to offer to the public just what is wanted in Motor Cars required for every-day use. The four-cylinder engine fitted to a motor car is admitted by all engineers and motorists to give tho best results. Owing to the high price in the past for the best makes of fourcylinder cars, many doctors, farmers, and other users are driving cars with single and twin-cylinder engines, which at the best are noisy, and a very poorsubstitute for the four-cylinder system. The new 1908 10-12-h.p. four-cylinder Humber, giving 17-h.p- R.A.C. rating, marks a step forward in motor-car construction. Tho now Humber is sold at a price previously charged for singlecylinder cars. On testing the sample Humber on the flat and hills, we decided to cancel by cable all our orders for one and two-cylinder cars. We now give .notice that in future we will only stock Tour-cylinder cars. Tho new Humber is fully guaranteed. The improvements aa-e the double ignition by magneto, and accumulators. The magneto generates the electricity to explode the charge of petrol gae in tho engines, and pover requires re-charging, as in tho case of the out-of-date accumulator system. All motorists living in the country must have magnetos to prevent being stuck up owing to the accumulators failing. The gate change speed is a decided improvement, and cun be opwa.ted by, a boy or girl with greatest ease. The mechanical lubricator is a safeguard against any trouble on the road due to overheated bearings caused •by the. failure of the oil system. The new 10-12-h.p. Humber car can be supplied fitted with two-seater bodies or lour-ceater side-entrance bodieb, also a special mode! for doctors, with oape, hood, wind-shield, etc. Tho public are invited to inspect the sample Humber. Trial runs are freely given to all those interested. ADAMS,, LTD., 34-80, Mercer street. Sole Agents for New Zealand.—HERBERT DIS, Wellington manager. •
