BURNS V. LANG
The sixth and last round (says tho Adelaide “Register”) saw an exhibition of ring craft and the manner in which Burns takes a tremendous risk with an opponent whom he believes ho lias thoroughly weakened, Bang’s loft came feebly to his ribs, and he feigned to bo badly rattled. He delivered a weak tippet cut and loft his jaw open to a straight left from Lang. “Burns is done!” shouted tho crowd. “Finish him, BUI/’ and Bang scored again with a tired loft. Burns made a pretence of tidying to uppercut, and yells of encouragement to tho Australian arose anew. Suddenly tho American scorned to wako up, and with a strong right hook sent his opponent through tho ropes. "When Bang rose Burns forced him to rally, and choor followed cheer as the Americanos hand dropped, and ho swayed weakly in front of Bang, who buffeted him on both sides of the face with such strength as remained to him. ‘‘You've got him, Rill." “He’s done.” Tho cries rose again, but tho cheering suddenly stopped- as tho champion’s face came into view with a broad grin upon it. Burns straightened himself up, his hands wore raised again, and his eye lit up with the slow fire of determination that spelt tho end of the fight. Bang, who had soon tho grin, saw the danger signals, and sheered off. The American followed with surprising springiness and spebd. Never at any time of tho fight had he appeared stronger and fresher. More quickly than it can bo told the hapless Australian was penned in a corner of tho ring, and a smashing right swing on tho jaw sent him down, and out.
