The members of Bord Plunket’s staff have been elected honorary members of the club. Tho Manawatu _ Art Society’s exhibition in the big hall on the Show Grounds was visited by a large number of people yesterday afternoon and evening, one and all expressing surprise at the splendid collection which had been got together. The Maori section’ is particularly interesting, and the curio department alone is well work a visit. Each evening during the season a programme of vocal and instrumental music has been arranged for. Mr Mark Cohen, editor of the Dunedin “Star,” has been a visitor to Palmerston. It is a great number of years since Mr Cohen was in this town, and ho expressed his astonishment atthe progress that has been made. Nearly a hundred couples attended tho annual railway staff hall in the Municipal Hall last night, and the function proved a great success. The hall was nicely decorated and the floor was in s'plendid order for dancing.
