PROTECTION OF ANIMALS.

A moating of the committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held yesterday. The chair was occupied by Mr J. S. Jamioson, and there were Ulso present Mesdames Christie, Simpson, and England Eev. J. B. Glosaon, and Messrs W. Watson and S. Carroll (secretary). The inspector (Mr F. Seed) reported that he had 'attended to a large number of oases of cruelty during the fortnight, mostly to horses. The following subscriptions were acknowledged .—Mrs T. G.
