AN IMMENSE FIRE
SUBURB OF BOSTON SQUARE MILE OF BUILDINGS IN ASHES. TREMENDOUS DAMAGE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyi igW (Received April 14, 0.5 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 13. A tremendous lire broke out lasi evening at Cholsoa, a populous suburb of Boston. Buildings covering more than a mile square have been destroyed, and the file is not yet suppressed. The places that have been burned down include thirteen churches, two public libraries, a children’s hospital, a dozen factories, and four hundred tenement buildings. The damage is roughly estimated at a million and a half sterling. One death occurred, and fifty persons are known to have received injuries.
Embers blown across tho Chobsca river caused several oil tanks belonging to the Standard Oil Company' to How up.
