"A NICE ORGANISATION"
(To the Editor ,f N.Z. Times.") Sir,— Among the pearls of wisdom which fell into your columns from the Russian gentleman now visiting Wellington—*'‘a savant" I see he's termed—was the statement that the Western Miners' Federation of Denver, TJ.S.A., was "a very nice organisation." It is, indeed—very nice. A day or so ago a cable message published in the newspapers gave a precis of President Roosevelt's Message to Congress about Anarchism. I wonder how many of your readers are aware of the connection of that message and tho Minors' Federation which this Russian gentleman found to bo "very nice.** Tho last Russian, visitor interviewed by the <f New Zealand Times" was horrified to find that women in this country did not work as agricultural labourer©. Tho present one seems to have an idea that the New Zealand workers are not "idealistic" enough. What's he got to say about these Hastings bakers who are taking such a sordid view of life as to strike against £3 2s for a week of sixty hours?—l am, etc., MOUJIK. April ISth.
