Times.”) Sir, —Tho report of the Canterbury poultry breeders in Saturday's issue should bo rend very carefully by the perplexed housewife who sometimes ©peculates in that mystery of mysteries, the fresh ogg. The chairman of tho meeting said that ‘The egg market was in the hands of the consumer," whatever that may moan, and a society was formed with a name as long as a lobby and a flight of stairs, whose duty it shall bo “to toll tho consumer tho price of eggs, and not vice versa." But if the stupid consumer whom those good people are ac such pain© to educate should say, “Keep your oggfl, 1 can do without them for at least a few months." what then? Tho A.B.G.X.Y.Z. Society might say in reply, "Oh! Weil just hold on till the general election." —1 am, etc., VICE VERSA.
