STILL UNSETTLED
NEW SOUTH WAXES COASTAL STRIKE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received April 11, 1.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 10. Fho chief point at issue when the conference which is endeavouring to settle the coastal strike adjourned on Wednesday was whether members of the Institute of Marine Engineers should return to work while allowing engineers engaged on coastal boats during the strike to complete the terms of their agreement with the companies, some of which are stated to run to twelve months. A ballot of the institute, taken today, decided to allow free engineers to complete their agreements. Subsequently a meeting of representatives of the coastal companies accepted a provisional agreement. A meeting of the unions affected is now in progress. The latest report is that they have refused certain proposals in the agreement, and the strike •emains unsettled.
