THORNDON CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. Tho Thorndon Hockey Club's annual meeting was held last night. Dr Izard presiding over a fairly large attendance.. Seventeen new members were elected. The committee’s report, which was adopted without discussion, stated that the club was in a very satisfactory financial condition, tho balance now at tho bank being £6 15s lid, as against JB3 16s 9d for the previous year. This was really better than it looked when the extra expenses of tho season were taken into consideration, capitation fees being £i 2s 6d, as against ill 13s, and affiliation fees £2 2s, as against £1 Is during the previous year. Last season the club’s junior eleven started well, but owing to several members leaving Wellington. it was decided to withdraw fr< m the second round of the Competition. The third-class A team played exceedingly well during the season, and were to be highly congratulated upon their position at the finish. They had to play off tho final with the Victoria College A team, and were only beaten after a very close game. The third-class B team played well, and held a very good position intil nearly the end. The club’s assets, including its credit balance, totalled .£l2 €s sd. The advisability, of entering the senior competition was discussed, and a motion moved to this effect. It was stated tlat four senior players belonged to the club, and if it went into the senior competition, more senior players would be attracted. The motion was adopted. The patron, president, and vice-presi-dents were re-elected, with the addition of, the Hon. T. W. His lop. Dr Hogg, and Mr F. M. B. Fisher, M.P., ns vice-presi-dents. Mr A. W. Clouston was re-elect-ed hon secretary. .Mr G.. B. Russell was elected hon. treasurer in place of Mr W. B. Stmthers. who resigned,. and Mr X D. M. Mclntyre as delegate to the Wellington Hockey Association. The election of a committee resulted in the appointment of Messrs H. Turner, G. Williams, Q. Foote. W. B. Stmthers, C. Mills," Dunbar Sloane, and X Kiernan. Messrs A. X Cathie and W, Slater were elector bon. auditors,' Mr Dunbar Sloane club captain, and, Mr G. Foote vicecaptain. ■ ■■■'’■•
