PRESS ASSOCIATION. GISBORNE, April 10. In tho Banco case William Brady (appellant) v, William Maddem (respondent), a case arising out of tho, sale of a box of gift tea, in which tho Magistrate convicted appellant under the Trading Stamps Abolition and Discount Stamps Issue Act, his Honor ruled that the conviction could not bo sustained. The coupon in question, to ootne within tho Act, must refer tho holder to a trading stamp company to which he may resort ,to have his coupon honoured. In this case the vendor himsolf undertook to honour the coupon, which was not a scheme at which the legislation aimed. His Honor said 1 he had discussed the matter with other Judges, and they agreed with tho above conclusion. The appeal was allowed, with five guineas costs.
