BUTTER AND CHEESE SHIPMENTS
Another large shipment of butter and cheese loft Wellington on Thursday by the Rimutaka for Rondon. Compared with the figures of the oorresponding shipment for the s*ame month last year there is a considerable falling off in mo quantity of butter dispatched, 2148 boxes being taken by the Rimutaka as against 7872 cases in April of 1907. The explorAition of this is that a large quantity of butter is being stored in the Dominion instead of being forwarded Home, as was the case last year. Particulars of the Rimutaka’® cargo and the ports from which the shipments were irAide are as follows Auckland, 20 boxes butter, 178 cases of cheese; New Plymouth, 1503 butter, 1297 chocos; Patea, 133 butter, 4781 cheese; Wellington, 487 butter, 508 cheese; Lyttelton, 130 cheese; Dunedin, 443 cheese; Bluff, 1915 cheese; total, 2148 boxes butter, 9278 cheese, a® against 7672 boxes butter and 8629 case® choose in April last yttir.
