MANAWATU RACING CLUB. SECOND DAV OF AUTUMN MEETING, (NOTES BY "ADVANCE.”; Tho Mauawatu Racing Clul/s autumn meeting wan continued yesterday at Awapuni. The weather experienced wos Loiter than on Tuesday. The sum of .£10,0.02 was put through the totalizators, making *1:10,213 for tho two days, against X22.J97 Inst year, Bookmaker!*' fees amounted to JCGOO. Both the first day's hurdle winners wito again successful. Showman, a bold fencer and free galloper, carrying a slum* more, scored more easily than on the previous day. Aorangi, who looked all over a winner on the previous day when ho fell at the last fence, was never in the first division, and cut up badly, finishing fourth. In flic Papitoae Hurdles Gold Dust and Claremont, winner and runner-up on the first day. were similarly placed yesterday. Different tactics were adopted with lTo<,pqctor, who was taken to the front ami was tho first beaten. Ho walked in after the field, and is evidently a back number. Killaniev has lost his form, and Oryx appeared outclassed. Half a mile* from home Claremont went to the front, but could not got Ear away from Immolation. Claremont entered the Mraighfc with a good lead, but ran wide at tho hurdle in the straight, and Gold Dur.t, slipping up on the rails, __ .scored olovorly. * On his running at Feilding in tho spring Gold Dust was well treated at Mamiwatu. Tho rise of till) on tho second day made no difference to him.

Clnnchatilan was tried ns a sprinter in tho Borough Handicap, but was as great a disappointment as over longer distances. Ballarat got out smartly on the rails, and always had slightly tho best of it. King Billy was twice blocked, but finished well when called on, and beat Contender bv a narrow margin. Tarina was running second at the turn, but failed to so© it out. Waicola tailed off nil tho way.

"Mr Highdon” started Flamen and Moscow in tho Dominion Cup. Tangitnoana. on the rail#, vAis quickest to begin, but at tho end of three furlongs sho gave way to Chatterer and Arclight, thin pair being just clear of The Dane along the back. Half a railo from homo Tangimoana moved up to tho leaders and was first into tho straight, where Bourrasque challenged. Under punishment Tangimoan'i finished gamely and won by two lengths. Tho Lark, who finished third, was going faster than anything else Ut tho finish. Tho succoeo of Mr David Buick (a vice-president of tho .club) in tho firct Dominion Cup was very popular, and on returning to tho enclosure tho maro was heartily cheered. Tangimoana has boon a most consistent performer this season. She won tho Clarovillo Handicap (ono mile) on the second day of tho Taratahi-Cartorton Racing Club’s meeting in November, the principal event on tho second day of tho WoodviUo meeting in December, tho Raneiusei Cup, the Wellington Eyeing Club Handicap, and ran second to waifcapu at Opalu. Tho Sou It —Satanolhi filly, Mon Ami, who ran third in the Hack Firing earner in tho afternoon was saddled up again ■in the Juvenile Plate, »ind scored from Tuataki. a throe-year-old gelding by The Possible—Maid Marian.

Silver Lend (Sylvia Part—Mfcdamo Colo) who ran e&oond in tho Hack Flying eoored a win for Air C. E. Major, M.P., in the Farewell Welter Handicap. Trug*inini, runnor-up to Woodhey in the Champion Hack Plate, bent all tho others 5.XJ.0 performances of Mon Ami and Silver Lead makes Lethean, winner of tho Back Flying, out to be pretty good; also Ikon, who conceded the Lethe gelding slh« and a beating tho day. Lothean is still owned by the Pahiatua nporfc wao purchased him at Martinborough, ‘and who now adopts a nom-de-courec.

Thu Hon. Ja*. Carroll had three horses racing at the meeting, and scored a win in the Maiden Hack with Mies Advance, bv Advance. Miss Advance is not trained by J. W. Lowe, but is in P. McLaughlin’s etablo at Hastings. That trainer has charge of Tarina. who is tilso owned bv the Native Minister.
