In pursuance of the resolutions passed by the Wellington Shopkeepers’ Association and the Industrial Association, steps are now being taken to o; rry into effect the pi oposal to hold a -pedal week for the display of good’s of New Zealand manufacture. The project has been endorsed by both associations, and Mr H. F Allen iwho is secretary to both) is now sending a cirrular to all . manufacturers, asking their co-optiacion. The circular is as follows •

Boar Sirs—At a recent meeting of this association, the question of a display of local manufactures in shop windows for one week each year, to be kr.own as the “Local Industries' Week,’’ was brought forward, and very favourably received by the associati in and the press The suggestion is that each large shop, should be invited to make an exhibit of one (or more) poitioular New Zealand manufacture, ami that the month of June would le a suitable lime fer making the display. Sub-committees will lie appointed to further the proposal, and it is considered to be of importance first to ascertain what support manufacturers would give to the scheme.
