WRECK OF THE BEGA
SPLENDID DISCIPLINE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright , SYDNEY, April 7. Splendid discipline was displayed On lie steamer Bega, which was wrecked on Sunday night oil Tathra Head. Owing to the excessive inclination of the deck the greatest difficulty was experienced in getting the boats launched and the passengers transhipped. A passenger states that during the run from Bermagui a list to port was observed, which shortly after was reversed to starboard. The women and children, who be* haved with calmness, were placed in the boats with as many male passengers as could be accommodated. Then Eovcn passengers and the bulk of the orow took to the life-rafts. The cause of the disaster is unaccountable. The vessel was surveyed a week ago.
The passenger Clarke, who died from shock, had been in feeble health.
