A BRITISH SHIP ATTACKED FROM THE BANKS OF THE TIGRIS. TWO PASSENGERS KILLED.

News has been received that insurgent Arabs on the banks of the Tigris subjected the British steamer Blosse Lynch (46G tons), owned by the Euphrates and Tigris Company, to a heavy rifle fire. A Turkish patrol steamer accompanying the Blosse Lynch returned rile insurgents’ fire. Two of the Blosse Lynch’s passengers were killed and several wounded. In response to Britain’s emphatic demand for redress the Porte promises to punish the aggressors.
