FIRES.

The insurances on the shop occupied by Mrs Currie in Tory street, damaged by hr© yesterday morning, are £525 on the building, in <br Atlas Insurance Company, and £IOO on the contents, in the Guardian Insurance Company. The Fire Brigade received an alarm yesterday afternoon, and proceeded to the house occupied by John Johnson, at 4G, Vivian street. The occupants extinguished the fire, which had been caused by a boy playing with matches and setting fire to some straw. Shortly after 8 o'clock last night the brigade received a telephone mcesags from Moesrs Kirkcaldie and Stains', and on arrival found that some wooden joict* in a workroom on the first floor wcr« alight. The-joists were over a store used for heating irons. .The fire was extinguished with a hand pomp, little damage being done.
