THE WAY OUT. ME ROOSEVELT’S ADVICE TO THE PEOPLE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received November 19, 11.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 19. President Roosevelt, in a letter to Mr G. B. Cortelyou, Secretary to the Treasury, appeals to the people to let business take its natural course, which will not involve a particle of risk to banks or trust companies. Crops were good, business conditions sound, and prosperity abounding. Mr Roosevelt urges the ceasing of hoarding money, and announces that the leaders of Congress are considering a currency measure to meet permanently the needs of the. situation. It is expected this will pass early in the session, which opens in a fortnight.
