The first quarterly examination of the Gregg Shorthand Institute was held last week. At the same time examinations for speed and theory certificates were held by Mr J. Wyn Irwin, Australasian representative for Gregg shorthand, the following students being successful: — Speed (test, 7 minutes on new matter before independent supervisions, the maximum number of errors allowed being 2 per cent.) —130 words a minute.
