POLITICAL LABOUR LEAGUE.
At the monthly meeting of the Independent Political Labour League last night a letter was read from the Wellington Tailors’ Union, stating that it had approved the objects of the league, and that several of the members had signified their intention of joining. A letter was read from the colonial executive, enclosing a manifesto. The manifesto was adopted, and a committee was set up to make arrangements for' - the appointment of an organiser. The meeting resolved to submit Mr J. McCullough’s name to the colonial executive as a suitable man for the position. A resolution was carried urging the Govenrment to establish State Legal Bureaux on the lines indicated by the recent Trades Council Conference. It was decided to co-operate with the Clarion Fellowship in organising a public reception to Mr Keir-Hardie, M.P., who leaves Sydney on November 17th.
