ANOTHER BIG FIGHT
ARABS REPULSED THE RED KAID AGAIN. FRENCH TROOPS SURPRISE THE MOORS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright y MOROCCO, September 12. General Drude this morning mad© a reconnaissance in the direction of Taddert, where the Arabs are encamped. After smart fighting, tirailleurs, or skirmishers, at tho point of the bayonet, carried, the high ridges commanding the camp. Th© Bed Kaid, who performed so gallantly at the battle on August 21st, made a desperate attack on the French right flank, but was repulsed. After th© artillery had cleared tho ground, the tirailleurs and Foreign Legion rushed the last crest and surrounded the camp, which the Algerian goumiers burnt. The Arabs, completely surprised, fled, after firing all th© neighbouring forms. l Except large quantities of fodder the camp contained little of value. All tho loot from Casablanca had ' been conveyed into the interior. The French losses were small; those of the Arabs considerable. “ EXCELLENTLY CONCEIVED.” PREMIER’S OPINION OF PLAN OF OPERATIONS. (Received September xrb 8.14 p.m.) PARIS, September 13. General Drude’s force marched ; a mile and a quarter beyond Teddert before withdrawing towards Casablanca. M. Clemenceau, the Premier, regards the operations as excellently conceived and executed.
