MONTE CARLO MURDER PRISONERS EXAMINED AT THEIR VILLA. A THREATENING CROWD. By Telecraph—Presa AJioclatlon—-Copyrifflil (Received September 12, 9.55 p.m.) MONTE CARLO, September 12. Dramatic scenes were witnessed in the Ooolds’ flat at Monte Carlo, whither tho prisoners were conducted. Mrs Goold, when confronted with saws and other articles used in dismembering Mrs Lovra s body, repeatedly exclaimed: “I. am innocent. 1 fainted, and know nothing. My husband did it all.” She flatly contradicted all witnesses. Vcro Goold, who wat> cairn and collected, declared, contrary no ins wile’s allegations, that Mrs Levin was invited to tho villa, and both advanced to welcome her, offering her liquor. Goold says he brought a tray, which his wife hold out to Mrs Levin while ho struck her. When their victim was dead they dragged her body to tho box room. When trying to clear his wife, Goold stated that sho entered while ho finished tho work. When tho magistrate questioned tho wifo regarding t-ho discrepancies in her evidence and that of her husband s sho tried to intimidate the magia- ! trato, exclaiming: “I will have England claim me.” A crowd collected outside the villa, and after tha examination they broke through a line of carbineers and pursued the prisoners’ carriage, threatening to lynch them.
