THEOLOGICAL EXAMINATIONS.

PRESS ASSOCIATipjf. AUCKLAND, January 21. Theological grade examinations for candidates for Holy Orders in the Anglican Church of New Zealand, which were hold towards tho end of last year throughout tho colony, have resulted in a notable success for students of St. John’s College, Auckland, who appear to have taken all tho exhibitions offered by tho Board for proficiency in special subjects. There are four grades of increasing difficulty, and St. John’s College sent up six candidates, and there wore two others from Auckland outside of tho college. Of the college candidates tho following successes are recorded.—Grade HI. —First class, R. A. AfoDonald, with exhibition of £2O: second class, 11. N. Wright, with Helven exhibition of £lO. Grade ll.—First class, J. E. Holloway and R. Anderson, each gaining an exhibition of £2O, and W. F. Stent; second class, 0. Palmer. Grade I.—First class, J. B. Holloway (first on list). Of outside candidates from Auckland tlio following successes arc recorded :—Grade Hl.—Third class, R. Cottle. Grades 11. and I.—Second class, J. Fussoll. This gives St. John’s five first classes, two seconds, and four exhibitions.
