Several members thought that it would ha establishing a bed precedent if it allowed the request. and it was decided to inform tho Nelson Club that the permit could not bo granted. AMATEUR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION Tho Council of tho New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association met on tho 12th inst.. Mr IV. 0. A tack presiding. With regard to the reinstatement of Fisher as an amateur, which hail b,s*n held over 'pending further inquiries, it was decided to inform him that tho Council regretted it could not see ms way to grant tho reinstatement, and he"would have to stand down till May 2-4. th. Tho AVairarapa Club wrote in reference to the case, in which tho secretary stated that Fisher bad won a -1-lOyds event, and seeing that ho was under suspension at tho tmo ho won tho race, they wanted tho opinion of tho Council on the matter. Ho (tho writer) had written to tho secretary of the Wellington Centro as to whether Fisher was eligible to compote, but receiving no reply tho club could not slop him running. Mr J. E. Green (secretary) said tliat tho Wellington Centro ought to have advised Fisher of his suspension. After discussion, it was agreed to allow Fisher to bare tho prise.
