Hlackmore, Government Pomologist, who hos been delivering a series of lectures to farmers in various parts of Canterbury on tne potato disease, lias taken the opportunity during his travels to inquire into the prospects of the jiotato yield. Tho outlook, at the present lime, ho thinks gives promise or a remarkably good yield. In moat instances where patches of potatoes have been reliortod ns affected with the blight he found on inspection that it was a disease known as "early blight,” and not the Irish blight, which is no destructive.
