HIS MAJESTY’S. Ajax, the flexible marvel, performs au unusual number of extraordinary feats of contortion at His Majesty’s Theatre. Tho act is one of the most popular on the bill. Mr Leonard Kelson’s success m comic songs is amply proven by the enthusiastic applause awarded him. _ Miss Beatrice English sings a selection ot tuneful numbers in artistic style. There will he a change of programme by Fuller’s Entertainers to-night. MISS MACLACIILAN. Miss Jessie Maclachlan, the famous Scottish prima donna, will give two farewell concerts in the Opera House in Wellington on November 9th and 10th. This will positively bo the last opportunity of hearing Scotland’s greatest singer, as she sails for America within a tew weeks. Since the season given recently in Wellington Miss Maclachlan has given return concerts at Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin. In ChWstchurch tho enthusiasm was quite unusual, her admirers taking tho horses out of her carriage and themselves pulling the singer to her hotel. For tho Hallow E’en concert given this week at Dunedin there was a record-breaking house, hundreds of people being turned away. Tho plan is now open at the Dresden.

WEST'S PICTURES AND THE BRESCIANS. RETURN FAREWELL TOUR. This popular combination, fresh from successes in Auckland, whore over 60,000 people visited His Majesty's Theatre to see them, open thoir farewell season in Wellington’s Opera House on Saturday next. ‘‘Everything new” is to be the key-note of tho opening programme. The cinematographic novelties range from a “Nightmare” (descriptive of a visit to tho moon) to tho Catching of a Whale, Scenic Tours in Switerland, Franco and Egypt, and magical films, which have made West’s Pictures a household word. Tho Brcscians, whoso clever musical performances delighted many people here, have a now budget of songs, solos, and comedy sketches, and will appear in old English costumes.

Rehearsals have been bold in preparation for tho forthcoming assault-at-arms, to be held at the Opera House on Tuesday and Wednesday next, by Harrison and Juries’s gymnasium. Many now and original acts are to be produced, including fire rescue, sheet drill, the Lady Lancers, Italian and cavalry sword drill, physical drill by the Zcalandia Rifles, and figure and military marching by _ boy cadets, Ju-Jiteu, battloaxe swinging, etc., etc. The entertainment is to bo interspersed by numerous living tableaux. The box plan is now open, and a full house is assured. An interesting ambulance lecture was given at tho Missions to Seamen last evening by the missionor, Mr James Moore. “Health Hints” were given, and several ambulance cases demonstrated. A capital musical programme was prepared by Miss C. Mason. Items were given by Misses Mason and Atkinson, Messrs Anker and Mason. Prizes for the competition were presented by ladies present.
