PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH. November 3. Tho weekly official review of the progress of the Now Zealand International Exhibition states that the dato of laying tho foundation stone of tho exhibition has been definitely fixed fox- Anniversary Day, December 18th. It has been decided that the band con. test should commence on February 11th, 1907, and continue for the six days ending February 16th. The sum of A7OO will bo given in prize-money, and will bo distributed in the folloxvfng manner: —Grand selection competition, six prizes, first being =£lso; quick-step competition, five prizes, first JB50; solo competitions, for various instruments, special side-drum contest, and quartettes. aud trombone trios. At the instance of the Technical Science Committee n circular has been prepared and will bo issued immediately to all interested in technical * science, inviting exhibits dealing with matters relating to tho application of science to any form of labour or manufacture or any other pursuit.
