PETITION FOR RELEASE REJECTED. MELBOURNE,'November 2. Tho Attorney-General has rejected the petition for the release of A. B. Worthington, of Temple of Truth fame, Christchurch, who was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment on tho 28th October, 1902, on a charge of having obtained a sum of money from Madame la Juvcnay by means of false pretences.
The ground of the petition was that Worthington was mentally weak. The doctors who examined the prisoner reported that his disorders were partly deliberate simulation, and partly hysterical excitement, which he can summon will.
