The Xquique is a ship of 1859 tons under command of Captain Wood. She is laden with coal from Newcastle for tho West Coast of Soxith America. Tho Union Company received advice that tho Mapourika, from AVdlington, via ports, arrived at Westport at noon vestordav. and sailed for Grevmouth at 1 p.m. Tho Mapourika is expected to arrive back at Wellington, towards midnight to-morrow. Mr Norton, chief officer of the Hawca, came ashoro yesterday on sick leave, Mr Carey, late chief officer of the Waintii, joined the Ilawea temporarily, in place of Mr Norton. The Tyser steamer Indralcraa. on completion of the discharge of her cargo from London, is to move to tho stream this morning to await orders. Cable advice has been received that tho Tyser steamer Marere, which sailed from New York on September 17th, arrived at Melbourne on Wednesday. The Marere is due at Wellington about the cud of tho month, and will discharge about 1200 tons of cargo at this port.

THE WEST OP ENGLAND TRADE. The New Zealand and African Steamship Company advises that the steamer Devon has been withdrawn from tho timo-tablo as the first vessel sailing from New Zealand direct to the West of England ports. Sho will bo replaced by the Morayshire which is to load at Wellington on the 25th instant. The Morayshire will proceed from this port to Lyttelton and thence to Port Chalmers, from which place sho is to sail Homewards. BOOKINGS FOE SYDNEY.
