BOOKMAKERS FINED.
PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, November 1. Further informations against bookmakers for trespassing on tho Biccarton racecourse at tho August meeting were heard by Mr V. G. Day, S.M., to-day. B. Ryan was fined .£ls on two charges, and Richard Solomon A2S on three charges. At tho conclusion of the cases, Mr Day said tho behaviour of bookmakers was becoming a public scandal, and in any future oases coming before the Court if there were two convictions against the accused, he would seriously consider the exorcise of other powers conferred upon him.
